What do I need to do to become an M-KOPA customer?

A

Your dealer will explain the product and payment plan to you. To register for M-KOPA Solar you will need your identification document and your M-PESA registered mobile phone. Once registered you will receive a call from an M-KOPA Customer Care representative who will explain the next steps.

What happens when I complete my payments?           

A

You become the owner of the solar home system and you can use it for free.  That is why it is good to pay as fast as possible and become the owner.

Can I buy M-KOPA Solar for someone else?

Yes. You can buy M-KOPA Solar for someone else to use. Please contact M-KOPA Customer Care on 0707 333222 for more information.

Do I need a technical expert to set up M- KOPA Solar at home?          

A

No. It is quick and easy to set up the solar home system yourself at home. You only need to mount the solar panel on the roof, place the control unit on a safe and convenient place indoors and connect the lights. The solar home system is portable and you can carry it with you if you are travelling for a few nights. Please call M-KOPA Customer Care on 0707 333222 if you need assistance.

What do I do if my System is not working?

Is there a warranty on the solar home system?

A

Yes. The Solar home system has a one year warranty against technical defects starting from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover negligence, mis-use or theft.

Can I buy this Solar Home System elsewhere?

A

No. This d.light solar home system is exclusively available through M-KOPA.

Does M-KOPA have a larger solar system, to charge a radio or television?

A

We are currently working on several exciting new products, and will keep you informed as they are made available. Completing your payments on schedule for your solar home system will place you in a good position to be eligible for future M-KOPA products.
